Hoover High School

Math Team is a competitive group where students show their mathematical skills by competing in rigorous contests with other students locally and around the country. Students learn problem solving strategies and engage in higher level mathematics that transcends the scope of the standard mathematics curriculum. There are three different grade levels for competitions: Geometry, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, and Comprehensive (Pre-Calculus and above).

Expectations

• Team Dues: Fundraiser to cover registration fees and supplies
• Attend weekly meetings to prepare for competitions
• Attend at least three competitions annually
• Be willing to learn from other students and help other students learn
