American Legion Scholarship

Eligibility

1. Students must be legal residents of Alabama.

2. Person applying for scholarship must be a son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of a veteran that served their country during times of war.

3. You must be attending a University that we have a scholarship at. (See attached list) Applications must be returned to American Legion Scholarship, P.O. Box 1069, Montgomery, Alabama 36101 and received not later than April 1, 2025. Scholarships are $850.00. Only recipients will be notified.

The Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients “regardless of nationality” with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Eligible high schools include public, private, charter, magnet, and STEM schools.

• Be a graduate of an accredited secondary school where they have shown evidence of academic excellence, good citizenship, sportsmanship and community involvement
• Show need of financial assistance to pursue an undergraduate education at a college or university
• Have an interest in the game of golf
• Be a  resident of the State of Alabama

Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that can be used at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2026 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. Winners may use the scholarship to pursue any academic major.
