Juniors and seniors with a 3.75 or higher cumulative GPA are eligible to be considered for membership in the Hoover High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. Those students who have met the GPA requirement will be e-mailed notification of their eligibility to apply over the summer and invite them to complete the request for membership form. Criteria used for membership are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The student meets the scholarship requirements by virtue of having a high enough cumulative GPA and he or she must further provide evidence in the areas of leadership and service on the request for membership form. Once the request for membership form is submitted, the grade level administrator will verify that the candidate has not had a level 3 discipline infraction throughout high school as proof of character. Any candidate with a level 3 discipline infraction is ineligible for membership. Request for membership forms must be submitted by the published deadline.
All applicants are notified by email if they are accepted or not into the National Honor Society.
