In addition to his classroom and coaching responsibilities, he has served as the administrator for both summer school and the winter credit recovery programs, where he led program operations and supported student success by managing credit recovery and credit enhancement programs. He oversaw staffing, utilized instructional technology platforms, and maintained consistent communication with families regarding student progress.

At Hoover High, he has taught all grade levels, including World History, U.S. History, and Government. He has also been actively involved in school leadership and athletics, serving on the school’s budget committee and as director of basketball operations. In that role, he organized fundraising efforts, coordinated event logistics, and managed game-day operations, including scheduling, transportation, and hospitality. He has also served as varsity boys basketball assistant head coach, JV head coach, and freshman head coach.

“Mr. Hosmer has a deep understanding of our school community and a proven ability to support both students and staff. We are excited to see the impact he will continue to make in this new role,” said Hoover High School Principal Dr. Kristi Sayers.

As assistant principal, he will support the school's overall operations, including student services, instruction, safety, and staff collaboration. He will oversee student discipline, scheduling, and school programs, while supporting ongoing improvement efforts and maintaining a positive, supportive learning environment that supports student achievement.

“I’ve been fortunate to serve this school district, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this new role as assistant principal,” Hosmer said. “This school and community mean a great deal to me, and I’m excited to continue supporting our students, staff, and families in a new way. I look forward to empowering our teachers and building strong relationships with our students so they feel supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.”

Hosmer holds a bachelor’s degree in general social science education from Auburn University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also holds his instructional leadership certification, as well as certifications in social studies and physical education.
